Hi there! My name is Mike Morret, Math teacher for the 7th grade Steel Team. I graduated from Newport High School a LONG time ago and worked for IBM in the corporate world for more than 22 years. With the support of family and friends, I decided to make a career change and earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics from Shippensburg University in 2005, with a concentration in secondary education. I am pursuing a Master's Degree in Learning Technologies to bring more interesting and engaging ways to learn Math here to MMS.
This year we will work hard to learn about Pre-Algebra or Algebra. Math is a challenging and exciting subject that has many connections to the real world, and I plan to help students make those connections. Please encourage your son or daughter to access my website on a regular basis. Here you will find homework, videos and tutorials to help with the homework, as well as options to further their understanding of the concepts we learn in class.
