I am excited to explore physical science with you this year! We will discuss chemistry, physics, and related environmental issues while sharpening your lab skills to solve scientific problems and prepare you for high school sciences.
Supply List for 2011-2012:
-
A three-ring binder (1 or 1-1/2" ring size is large enough) preferably with pockets on the inside of the front and back covers. If your binder does not have pockets, a folder with punched holes to fit inside the binder will work nicely. This binder should only be used for science class.
-
looseleaf paper and hole reinforcement stickers in case of tears
-
a calculator (basic is fine - scientific or graphing not necessary)
-
a ruler (metric, sturdy, with holes to fit into your binder is ideal)
-
pencils, pens, highlighters, erasers
-
index cards (50 to start)
Uses of my website:
Use this website's "Classroom Connection" tab as a tool for scheduling longer term assignments and for referencing notebook lists and content/skill sets. Daily homework should be copied from the classroom whiteboard into your agenda.
Please feel free to email!
a little background:
I am returning for my third year at MMS after an 8 year hiatus to raise my family. Prior to my leave, I taught middle school science for six years in suburban Philadelphia districts with short stints in Illinois and California public schools.
