DISTRICT PROGRAM DESIGN PROJECT

In 2015, the school district embarked on a planning process to ensure adequate capacity for its growing student enrollment.  The district engaged Crabtree Rohrbaugh Associates Architects to conduct a feasibility study.  The feasibility study evaluated school district facilities relative to enrollment capacity and instructional program equity.  This study also reviewed the current conditions of the district buildings from an infrastructure perspective (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems).

The district also engaged DecisionInsite to prepare ten-year student enrollment projections since the district was growing.  These enrollment projections are updated each year.  Enrollment projection reports can be reviewed here. 

In order to ensure that elementary students were exposed to the same instructional program regardless of attendance area, the School Board reconfigured elementary grade levels.  A district-wide Kindergarten Academy was already in place.  The district structured the other four elementary buildings as Grades 1-3 and established a district-wide Grade 4-5 Academy at Elmwood Elementary, renamed Elmwood Academy.  This grade level configuration was implemented in the 2018-2019 school year.  District residents can locate their elementary school of attendance at this link. 

Over the past several years, all elementary buildings in the school district were renovated, and new classrooms were added.  

In response to growing enrollment, the district also reviewed secondary classroom/building capacity and the secondary instructional program.  In order to accommodate growing enrollment at the secondary level, it was determined that additions and renovations were needed at the high school.  This project is currently underway.  Information about the building projects can be found HERE.
