MASD Health Monitoring Tool
 
The MASD Health Monitoring Tool guides parents, students, staff, and visitors in determining whether they are well enough to come on district property and/or board MASD transportation.  Each column (identified by color) details a specific circumstance.  This tool receives regular updates to reflect federal, state, and local guidance.

Positive

Individual tests positive for

COVID-19

 

 

Symptoms

 

Individual exhibits symptoms of illness

 

 

 

 

Exposed

Individual is a “close contact” to someone who tests positive for COVID-19

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Individual must stay home for at least 10 days since the onset of symptoms

 

AND

Until fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medicine

 

AND

Improvement in COVID-19 related symptoms

 

 

Level 1 Symptoms

 

If an individual experiences one or more of the symptoms below:

 

  •   Chills
  •   Congestion
  •   Sore Throat
  •   Onset of Severe Headache
  •   Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain
 
 
Leve 1 Actions
 
Do NOT come to school until symptoms clear.
 
If symptoms persist for longer than 2 days, move to "Level 2 Symptoms"
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

Level 2 Symptoms

 

If an individual experiences one or more of the symptoms below:

 

  •   One or more "Level 1 Symptoms" persisting for longer than 2 days
  • Temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
  • New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing
  • New loss or change in taste or smell
 
Level 2 Actions
 

Prior to returning to school, consult with a medical professional.  


If access to a medical professional is not possible for your family, please call the school nurse.

 
----OR----
 
Individual must stay home for at least 10 days since the onset of symptoms

 

AND

Until fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medicine

 

AND

Improvement in COVID-19 related symptoms

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

 

 

“Close contact” is defined as an individual who interacts with someone positive for COVID-19

 

  • ·   within 3 feet
 

AND

 

  • ·   for at least 15 consecutive minutes
 
If Fully Vaccinated
The exposed individual does NOT need to quarantine. A COVID test is recommended 2-4 days following exposure.
 
 
If NOT Fully Vaccinated
 Students
  • If both the exposed student and positive individual are masked, NO Quarantine
  • If one or both the exposed student and positive individual are unmasked, 10-day quarantine required
 
Staff
  • Individual must stay home for 10 days... if symptom-free before returning
-OR-
  • Individual may return after only 7 days...

    If symptom-free before returning AND individual obtains a negative COVID-19 test result dated at least 5 days into the quarantine period.
