Dear Kindergarten Academy families,

Due to a water main break in the area of Marble and Norway Streets in the Borough of Mechanicsburg, Kindergarten Academy students ONLY will be dismissed beginning at 9:15 a.m. today, Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Please read below for additional information.

We became aware of the issue this morning during arrivals, and at this point water service to the area is expected to be unavailable until at least midday. As a result, there is currently no water available in the building for drinking, handwashing, and toileting. Water bottles are available for emergency medical needs.

Because access to water is essential for student health and safety, Kindergarten Academy students will be dismissed beginning at 9:15 a.m. today, which we hope will allow families time to make arrangements to receive their children. Additional important details:

Dismissal will follow our standard procedures.
Bus riders will be transported home on their typical afternoon bus route.
Car riders may be picked up beginning at 9:15 a.m.
If your child’s dismissal plan will be different than their normal PM dismissal, please enter information into School Dismissal Manager no later than 9:00 a.m. or email kaoffice@mbgsd.org.

We understand that early dismissals can be disruptive, and we sincerely appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we navigate this unexpected situation. The safety and well-being of our students is always our top priority. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and share updates as needed.
