Home Education Program Requirements

The following documents are required for submission to the district each year, by the Pennsylvania Department of Education's deadlines:

August 1 Deadline:

  • Affidavit  - Notarized or Unsworn Declaration

    • Please use the PA Department of Education Affidavits (updated 2022) below or via the PA Department of Education website

    • The District Office offers free notarization by appointment

  • Three (3) distinct and separate Attachments are required: 

    • Educational Objectives by subject matter and appropriate grade level

    • Evidence of Immunization or letter of medical/religious/moral/ethical exemption

    • Evidence of Health and Medical Services or letter of religious/moral/ethical exemption (for each service below)

  • Physical Services and

    • Dental Services

June 30 Deadline:

  • Home Education Evaluation of student for the completed school year

To enroll within the Mechanicsburg Area School District for the first time, please complete the Online Registration or contact Central Registration.

Remember the importance of notifying the school district of any changes to your child’s educational plan. That may include transferring to a Mechanicsburg Area School District building, private school, the MASD CAOLA Cyber Academy, commercial cyber school, or moving outside the school district. Additionally, if you want to request a special education evaluation from the Office of Student Services, please contact Mrs. Jaime Bott, Supervisor of Special Education.
