🦎 LET'S MEET LOKI // Karol Maloney’s 1st graders at Upper Allen Elementary School are diving into animal groups in science — and recently, they explored reptiles with a very special guest: Loki the Gecko. A big thank you to Upper Allen's Stacy Salter for sharing her awesome pet and teaching our Wildcats all kinds of fun gecko facts. 👏 HELP US GIVE A 'GIANT' THANK YOU // Mechanicsburg Area School District Food Service is a recipient of GIANT's Feeding School Kids initiative. Thanks to GIANT’s support, we will receive $14,273.99 to grow school feeding programs to help eliminate child hunger within our schools. Thank YOU to all who rounded up at the register. 🐾 KINDERGARTEN IS PAW-SOME // We had some pretty excited future Wildcats in our building yesterday as we hosted our first Kindergarten is Paw-Some event of the Spring, where we welcomed our incoming Class of 2038. These little learners have both smiles and enthusiasm that are contagious, and we can't wait to officially welcome them for the start of the 2025-26 school year! Registration is open for incoming kindergartners for 2025-2026. To be eligible, children must turn 5 on or before September 1, 2025. 👏 LET’S GIVE OUR GENIUSES A ROUND OF APPLAUSE // These Wildcats from Northside Elementary School proudly and confidently presented their Genius Hour projects to our Board of School Directors during this evening’s meeting. Genius Hour is a classroom project that allows students to explore their interests and passions. Through this project, students are encouraged to be curious and ask questions, and research and learn something new. They share their projects with each other, and in May they will share their final projects and experiences with friends, families, and members of our school community. Congratulations, Wildcats! 🏫 PRINCIPALS IN THE MAKING // Our schools are filled with future leaders, and two Wildcats at Elmwood Academy recently got to put their leadership skills to the test when they took on the role of Principals for the Day! Abby and Ella took on this exciting challenge, courtesy of friends at the Wildcat Foundation and their recent Wildcat Foundation Night silect auction. From greeting students to showering our staff with appreciation, these young leaders got a taste of what it takes to run a school. 📚 In celebration of National School Librarian Day, Broad Street Elementary School students and staff honored school librarian Sarah George for all the wonderful things she does for our Wildcats. Students decorated their own "book spines"—drawing pictures, signing their names, and writing heartfelt notes of appreciation for Mrs. George. The staff then used these creative tributes to beautifully decorate the library window, turning it into a colorful display of gratitude and love. 👏 Please help us honor Mrs. George and all of our school librarians. 👔🎓 Move over, Mr. Echelmeier, we’ve got a new principal in town. First grader Tom Noss recently swapped the classroom for the principal’s office and led Shepherdstown Elementary School like a pro! 🎤 On Saturday, Elmwood Academy was honored to host the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 7 Elementary Song Fest, a choral festival that welcomed more than 240 talented student musicians from across Eastern Pennsylvania (including several of our very own Wildcats). 🎉🐾 TINY BUT MIGHTY // On Friday, our littlest learners got a special treat — their very own pep rally! It’s not often our youngest Wildcats get to experience the energy and excitement of a traditional pep rally, but they sure brought their A-game for this spirited all-school event!
