🐾 THANK YOU, COACHES // Today is National Coaches Day, and we’re giving a big #WildcatShoutout to every coach across Wildcat Nation — on the field, in the gym, on the court, in our classrooms (we’ve got amazing instructional coaches, too!), and everywhere in between.

You motivate, mentor, and model what it means to give your best every day. From game plans to lesson plans, you help our Wildcats grow stronger, smarter, and more confident. Today we celebrate you. Every day, we appreciate you.

🧦🎉 HEY MR. ARVEY, YOU KNOCKED OUR SOCKS OFF // Shoutout to Josh Arvey for keeping safety top of mind! When he noticed something out of the ordinary outside his classroom window at Elmwood Academy, he did exactly what we encourage everyone to do—he quickly checked in with the office. It turned out to be nothing at all, but his quick thinking was the perfect example of “See Something, Say Something.” Thank you, Josh, for always looking out for our Wildcats and helping keep our schools safe. You Knocked Our Socks Off!

🎶 THE LIFE OF A WILDCAT // Taylor Swift’s new album release made today’s PD extra fun! 💜✨

Dr. Bitz brought the Wildcat energy with some Taylor trivia, and winners scored custom Wildcat friendship bracelets, Swiftie-inspired style. 🐾🎤 Plus, it was also fun to see so many staff repping their “Life of a …” shirts throughout the day! 👕🐾

Just another way we mix learning, laughter, and belonging into our Wildcat days.

🧹 NATIONAL CUSTODIAL WORKERS RECOGNITION DAY // Today we celebrate ALL of our amazing custodians and buildings & grounds crews across MASD! 💙 From classrooms to cafeterias, playgrounds to hallways, you keep our schools safe, clean, and welcoming every single day — and we are so grateful. Today we celebrate you. Every day we appreciate you.

📸 Northside Elementary School sends a shoutout to their very own Mr. Kevin, Ms. Jennifer, and Ms. Lacey. Northside staff tell us that Mr. Kevin is quick to jump in to help with everything from water spills to playground clean-ups, always making sure the job is done right. Ms. Jennifer brings smiles and joy by decorating spaces like the faculty room — even surprising staff with a special touch for Custodian Day. And together with Ms. Lacey, this trio ensures Northside shines for students and staff alike. 🐾

❄️ SCIENCE IN ACTION // Our 8th-grade scientists in Abby Thornton’s class at Mechanicsburg Middle School got hands-on with some cool experiments — literally! Using dry ice, students explored states of matter and chemical reactions in action. The excitement (and fog!) filled the room as curiosity came to life.

Way to go, Wildcats — keep asking questions and discovering the world around you! 🐾

☔💜 In the middle of this morning’s downpour, one act of kindness stood out. As Wildcats arrived and the halls at Elmwood Academy filled with damp shoes and dripping umbrellas, Librarian Nate Chesky saw a student on crutches and knew the slick floors could be a risk. Without hesitation, he scooped her onto his back and carried her safely to class.

For this thoughtful act, he earned a visit from Dr. Bitz, who presented Mr. Chesky with a pair of our You Knocked Our Socks Off socks 🧦 — a small token of gratitude for going above and beyond.

Moments like this remind us what it means to be part of the Wildcat Family—looking out for one another, rain or shine. 🌟

📸 Special shoutout to 4th grade teacher Heather Strock for capturing this moment in action, and sharing for us to celebrate.

Who needs a nightlight when you’ve got Wildcats who shine this bright?
