Whether supporting classroom instruction, family meetings, school events, or everyday conversations, their impact is felt in meaningful ways across our schools. Thank you to our interpreters and team members who help foster connection, access, and a strong sense of community for all. 🐾💛 #WildcatPride

🧦 HEY DIRK, YOU KNOCKED OUR SOCKS OFF // Dirk Wiley, Assistant Facilities Director, went above and beyond to make something special possible for our Wildcats.

After a Wildcat Foundation grant funded a classroom swing in Terrin Sheeder’s MDS classroom at Upper Allen, Dirk stepped in to ensure the project could be completed safely. When a suitable mount wasn’t available within budget, he researched, designed, and built a custom ceiling mount himself.

Thanks to his creativity and dedication, students now have access to a meaningful sensory and movement experience right in their classroom. Scroll back through our feed to find photos of our Wildcats using the swing for the first time. Those smiles! 😊

We’re grateful for team members like Dirk who go the extra mile to support our students in ways big and small.

📚 CONNECTIONS ACROSS GRADES // Mechanicsburg Middle School 8th graders from Angel Leggore’s English class recently spent time at Shepherdstown Elementary School, sharing their work with younger students and building connections as they stepped into leadership roles.

Bringing their self-created biography children’s books, they read with and inspired our Shep Wildcats, turning each page into a moment of curiosity and excitement. It was a chance for younger students to see what’s possible and for older students to lead and connect, all the while making a meaningful impact.

📸 Special thanks to Shep Principal Dave Echelmeier for capturing these moments in action.

💛 BIGS & LITTLES // There’s something special about Wildcats looking out for one another.

At Broad Street, our first graders recently handwrote and shared “Smarty Pants” notes filled with encouragement and confidence-boosting messages for our third graders as they prepared for the PSSAs. This simple act of kindness is a reminder that we’re all in this together.

📸 Special shoutout to our friends at Broad Street for sharing these photos with us.

💛 TAKING CARE OF OURSELVES // Wildcats at Northside Elementary School had a great time at their recent Self-Care Fair, exploring simple, practical strategies they can use throughout their day.

Led by school counselor Bethany Kline and school social worker Kelly Herman, students rotated through interactive stations focused on things like building positive habits, calming their minds, and knowing when to use these tools. Along the way, they created their own self-care bags to take home. A fun, hands-on experience with tools students can carry with them wherever they go. 🐾

During an off-campus auto accident involving students before the school day had even begun, Nick stepped in with calm, steady leadership and genuine care. His presence helped ensure students were supported and the situation was handled smoothly.

It’s this kind of commitment that makes a difference when it matters most. Thank you, Mr. Wilson, for always showing up for our students and staff.

Throughout this experience, Gabriella demonstrated a strong commitment to personal growth and leadership development. She embraced opportunities to learn more about herself, build new skills, and gain valuable insight that will guide her in the years ahead. As the only Wildcat in this year’s cohort, Gabriella served as an outstanding ambassador for our district.

They create a welcoming start, a safe ride, and a familiar, friendly presence our students can count on.

📸 Thank you to Mr. Scott of B&S and all of our bus/van drivers across the district for your patience and care. Today we celebrate you, every day we appreciate you. 💛

👏 CAUSE FOR APPLAUSE // Mechanicsburg Area School District has once again been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation. Only 1,008 school districts across the country earned this designation in 2026.

This recognition highlights the strong, well-rounded music experiences available to our Wildcats and the many opportunities students have to learn, perform, and grow through music. 💛

We’re grateful to our dedicated educators, talented students, supportive families, and community members who make this possible and continue to champion the arts across MASD. 🎺🥁

🧦 HEY NATHAN, YOU KNOCKED OUR SOCKS OFF // Nathan Einsig, MASH Science Teacher and Science, Technology, and Engineering Department Chair, is making an impact beyond the classroom.

Leading other leaders is no small task, and Nathan recently supported that work by developing and facilitating a thoughtful reflection activity for the secondary department coordinator team based on a shared book study. His engaging, high-quality approach created space for meaningful conversation and continued growth in leadership skills.

Thank you, Mr. Einsig, for helping our team learn, reflect, and lead even stronger.

🇺🇸 WILDCATS IN D.C. // Students from the Civil Rights Legacy Elective, AP U.S. History, and 9th Grade American Studies classes at MASH recently took learning on the road with a meaningful trip to Washington, D.C..

The trip started at the Lincoln Memorial, where Austin, a sophomore, read an excerpt from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech at the historic marker, creating a powerful moment of reflection. Students also visited the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and continued along the National Mall, connecting their learning to the places where history happened.

The day concluded at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, where students explored exhibits that brought key moments in American history to life.

A beautiful day filled with learning, reflection, and Wildcats making meaningful connections.
